Pin what you reuse
Addresses, snippets, the commands you type every day. Pinned items stay at the top and are never cleared, even when your history fills up.
Copycat keeps a history of the text you copy, right in your menu bar. Press ⌘⇧V in any app to find something and paste it again.
Free for macOS, Windows and Linux.

Password managers mark what they copy as private, and Copycat never records it. Want a break from recording? Pause it, and the menu bar icon shows it.
Copycat opens right next to your cursor, in whatever app you're using. Type to search, press return to copy, and you're back to work. Change the shortcut to any keys you like.
Newest first, with how long ago you copied each item.
Frosted glass, light and dark mode, your accent colour. No Dock icon.
Your history lives in one local file and is never sent anywhere.
Every one of these works in the demo at the top of the page, too.

Copycat isn't signed with an Apple or Microsoft certificate yet, so your computer asks before opening it.
Mac: drag Copycat to Applications and open it. When macOS says it can't verify the developer, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. You only do this once.
Windows: if SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway.
Linux: make the AppImage executable (chmod +x copycat-*.AppImage) and run it, or install the .deb with
sudo apt install ./copycat_*_amd64.deb.
